Winter is Back!

We’ve been working hard and it’s paid off. SNOWPOWER returned last night at 5:45 pm, and conditions are getting better every hour. Now all we need is you!

Saturday and Sunday are perfect days to be on the mountain – mostly sunny with the high near 30 degrees. Overnight temps will be cold, so we’ll be making snow all night to get the slopes ready for your morning runs. And next week is looking like you should take a snowday at Wintergreen!

Check out the Slope Report each morning for the latest in slope openings.

  • The Highlands remain open. Upper Cliffhanger will be closed Friday for intense snowmaking, reopening Saturday.
  • Upper Tyro, Tequila and Lower Sunrise will reopen Saturday
  • Snowmaking will be on open trails throughout the weekend
  • Extra Tubing sessions added on Sunday –  Buy Tickets online, they often sell out

Welcome to MLK Weekend!

Join us for the first holiday weekend of 2017! Snowmaking has allowed us to open more terrain and build our base. We plan to open Upper Wild Turkey, Cross Cut and possibly Upper Diamond Hill this weekend. Even though we’ve had a couple warm days, the highs on Saturday and Sunday will be near 40 degrees – great for enjoying outside fun.

There is also a possibility that ice overnight will force operational delays Saturday morning. If that happens, we will post updates on the website blog, and on social media. We expect the earliest updates will be around 7:30 am. Stay tuned!

Learn to Ski & Ride Month

January is Learn to Ski & Ride Month, and we suggest our Discover Skiing and Riding Program. If you’re new to winter sports, check out this How-To Video about putting on ski and snowboard boots. Then boogie on down to Rentals before you hit the slopes!

90% Open By This Weekend

SNOWPOWER has a had a phenomenal run – nearly a week of round-the-clock snowmaking, aided by over 7 inches of natural snow.  Talk about a perfect storm! When Mother Nature cooperates, we certainly make the most of it. During this past run, our snowmakers converted 29 million gallons of water into snow, opened more terrain, and laid down exquisite corduroy. And, we’re not done yet!

MLK Weekend

Coming up is one of winter’s great loooong weekends: Martin Luther King Weekend. We expect slope conditions to be fantastic. We’ve had lots of happy skiers and riders commenting on how great the ski surface is right now, and how well trails have been groomed. The current deep freeze will mellow out by this weekend, resulting in more enjoyable, seasonable winter temps. Plus, we’ll have almost all our trails open for you to enjoy, so come on up!

New Trails Opening By Friday:

  • Upper Wild Turkey
  • Cross Cut
  • Devils Elbow
  • The Gap
  • Upper Diamond Hill
  • Terrain Park and Progression Park
  • Lower Cliffhanger

Don’t forget to Buy Your Plunge Tickets Online in advance – it will sell out this weekend!

Meanwhile, take a look at these pictures from this morning - it's another great snowday on the mountain!

Come Get Some Powder!

We’re open 9 am-9 pm with 3-5 inches of FRESH POWDER!

Light snow has been falling off and on since Thursday, but last night we had some more serious snow. Accumulations are between 3-5 inches this morning and it’s still snowing.

What you need to know:

  • Conditions are perfect and powdery
  • Tyro and Upper Sunrise opened yesterday
  • Lower Diamond Hill opens today

Welcome 2017!

Cold weather is back and we’ve had a great snowmaking run the last few days, building our base and keeping surfaces refreshed. Today is a beautiful day on the mountain, so start the new year off right – with some great skiing, riding and tubing, of course! Lifts will be turning until 9 pm tonight.

After a brief break in snowmaking, we’ll be back at it next week, with a forecasted long run of great snowmaking weather. Keep an eye out for more terrain opening soon!

If you missed the fireworks over the slopes last night, check out this video taken from a unique vantage point by our snowmaking guru, Zach Marlowe.
