Wild weather continues! Yesterday, the mountain saw periods of flurries, sleet and sunshine alternating throughout the day. We know that is a good sign - winter is not over yet.
Colder weather and snowmaking returns Friday night! Friday through Tuesday nights all look good for snowmaking. The plan is to maintain our current slopes and enhance the experience. So keep doing your snow dances and THINK COLD!
Slopes will continue to operate daily with the following schedule/rates:
What happens after Sunday? Stay tuned!
We've been telling you that a special piece of snowfarming equipment is coming tonight. We've got a contest on our Facebook page right now: if you can guess the snowfarming tool, you'll win a pair of midweek lift tickets! Check our Facebook page here!

Our battle with Mother Nature continues, and we're still not giving up!
Conditions are thin, patchy and narrow, and change throughout the day. However, we still have snow, we are still open, and lots of people of all ages are out here having fun!
When our mountain team skied and rode all the trails this morning to evaluate, they came across so many people, of all ages, smiling and having a really great time. Don't waste the day in bed or indoors looking at a screen - get outside, get some fresh mountain air, and enjoy the day!
What can we say - the weather is crazy. Our forecasts are changing every 12 hours. But we do see cold air in the future, and we're not giving up. Please THINK COLD, everybody! We will make snow. We haven't put our snow guns away yet!
Slopes will continue to operate daily with the following schedule/rates:
Thank you to everyone who came out his weekend to have fun with us!

We’re in the midst of a tough battle with Mother Nature.
Overnight temps were not as kind to us and we lost some trails overnight.
However, we are still skiing and riding on 11 trails, 9 am-5 pm, and we’re not
giving up! Our snowfarmers will be out tonight moving snow around and we hope
to re-open additional trails for this weekend.
Cold air is in the forecast for next week. We don’t know
when exactly it will arrive, but we are ready and waiting. We even have a
special piece of snowfarming equipment arriving on Wednesday to help. We’re
fighting for every last flake.
Like so many Olympians in PyeongChang right now, we’ve trained, we’re strong and want to give you the best skiing and riding we can. What if Shaun White had retired after the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi? We don’t want to wonder “what if?” We’re giving it all we got.
It's spring skiing, folks! Come out and have some fun!
For information about hours of operation, slope openings and closures, please see This Week at Wintergreen.
You may have noticed some warmer temps lately, but...
WE STILL HAVE SNOW!
We're open every day this week, 9 am-9 pm for skiing, riding and tubing. If you're looking toward the weekend, have no fear, we will still have snow. Trail count may be changing but we will still have a variety of terrain open, including The Highlands.
That's right - THE HIGHLANDS WILL BE OPEN THIS WEEKEND.
Virginia weather can be a roller coaster and we're used to the ride. We just plan ahead, make snow when we can, and snowfarm all night to groom the slopes to the best possible conditions.
Remember, spring skiing is really fun. Warmer temps mean less layers - you can even work on your tan!
And, it's perfect weather to Ski & Tee - ski at the top of the mountain, then skip down to the valley for a round of golf at Stoney Creek!
For multi-sport enthusiasts who enjoy hitting the golf course with the same gusto as they approach the slopes, Wintergreen Resort has the ideal opportunity for guests who want to ski in the morning and challenge to the golf course in the afternoon.
Talk about the perfect “winter” and “green” combo - Wintergreen’s Ski & Tee offer allows guests to present a same-day lift ticket for a free round of afternoon golf at Stoney Creek Golf Course, 3,000 feet below the mountain in the scenic Rockfish Valley.

It has been a great holiday weekend and we're open 9 am-9 pm for skiing, riding and tubing today! 24/25 slopes are open today with spring-like conditions. For mogul fans, Outer Limits is bumped up for you to enjoy. There are also some moguls on the upper left side of Cliffhanger for added fun.
We were able to make snow most of Saturday, so thanks to SNOWPOWER and snowfarming we were able to regain a slope (Outer Limits) for Sunday. Despite some challenges from Mother Nature, our snowmakers and snowfarmers continue to perform miracles.
Check out these pictures from some of the events we had this weekend! We had parties on the Blue Ridge Terrace, Tap Takeovers, boot toss, glow stick parade, tennis events and more! If you missed it or just want some more, check our Olympic Events to see what we have coming up!
Our Winter Escape Package is an unbeatable deal that pairs Lodging AND lift tickets. It's the best way to make the most of your getaway!Last Edited by The Mountain Messenger on Monday, February 19, 2018

But the big news is... IT'S SNOWING! At the moment, some big flakes are coming down. We're still not sure exactly what we're going to get, but temps are cold and snow has started, so that's always a good sign! Thanks to everyone who did snow dances - keep them coming!! Snowmaking returned very early this morning too and we will continue to lay down new snow throughout the day.
Roads are in good shape - come up and enjoy the POWDER that is on the way!
And in between runs, make sure you check out all the fun events happening this weekend. There's a Ski Boot Dance Party starting at 1 pm on the Blue Ridge Terrace With Stable Craft Brewing!

Have you ever heard this saying?
Red sky at night, sailor's delight;
Red sky in morning, sailor take warning.
Well, there was a red sky this morning, and according to the old saying, that means a storm is on the way. What exactly the storm will bring is up for debate. And what the top of the mountain gets, will be different from where you are. The weather models seem to change on us every hour, so we aren't really sure if we'll get a wet mix or 3-5 inches of snow. Start your snow dance!
We're hoping for the best in terms of weather, but either way, it's going to be a really fun weekend! We have a ton of events scheduled, including:
We still have a bunch of snow and the conditions are good. We closed a few trails today, but they will be back tomorrow after some heavy "snowfarming" by our awesome snow groomers. Our snowmaking team is coming in tonight and we will be making snow at every opportunity.

The weather is wet, but the snow is still great. ALL trails are open 9 am-9 pm with great spring-like skiing, riding, and tubing.
Rain happens from time to time and it's a good thing because it fills up the tanks and snow ponds to make more snow after the weather moves out. We anticipate days like this, building our base so that we can withstand a bit of wet weather. It's no big deal - just make sure to bring your waterproof gear so that you can enjoy the snow comfortably.
The even better news is that there is a chance for snowmaking tomorrow night, so crews will be standing by to add new snow onto our base and refresh all the surfaces.Last Edited by The Mountain Messenger on Sunday, February 11, 2018

Some people put their faith in the Groundhog in Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney Phil. But around here, we have our own furry prognosticator, Wintergreen Will! The good news is that this year, Punxsutawney Phil and Wintergreen Will agree: AT LEAST six more weeks of winter!
Wintergreen Will rose with the sun this morning and went on his annual snowmobile ride around the slopes. He even got a chance to do a little snow grooming in the pisten bully. After taking stock of the situation, and seeing all the snow we have, he decided that we would indeed have atleast six more weeks of winter fun. The future was so bright for this mountain the Wintergreen Will had to wear shades.
Every slope but Upper Diamond is open today, and snow conditions are excellent. Our base is 38" and we're open 9 am-9 pm with tons of skiing, riding and tubing.
