Shamokin Ice
Visit your neighborhood pond and slide, glide and spin your way through winter!
Located in the heart of the mountain village, Shamokin Ice is just off the Blue Ridge Terrace convenient to The Edge, The Copper Mine Bistro and Pryor's Cafeteria. This 45x90 foot rink will accommodate up to 60 people per session. The 150 ton chiller provides the refrigeration to keep the ice ready for you. Tickets may be purchased online, at the rink, at any of our ticket windows at Skyline Pavilion, Shamokin Ice or Discovery Ridge, or over the phone.
Shamokin Ice Tickets
Be sure to reserve your ice skating tickets early, session times frequently sell out especially on weekends and holidays. To reserve your ice skating tickets for sessions during the next seven days either purchase them online or call us at 434-325-8165.
Please be aware that tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served, non-refundable basis.
Please plan to arrive at least one hour prior to your session. On weekends and holidays, a free shuttle makes continuous runs to and from the Mountain Inn area and both the Wintergarden and Devils Knob Golf satellite parking areas.

90 minute session: $11

Winter Season Hours:
- Tuesday and Thursday: Closed except for Holiday week Dec 25 and 27
- Monday and Wednesday: 5-6:30 pm, 6:45 – 8:15 pm
- Friday: 5- 6:30 pm, 6:45 – 8:15 pm, 8:30 – 10 pm
- Saturday: 1:30 – 3 pm, 3:15 – 4:45 pm, 5-6:30 pm, 6:45 – 8:15 pm, 8:30 – 10 pm
- Sunday: 1:30 – 3 pm, 3:15 – 4:45 pm, 5-6:30 pm, 6:45 – 8:15 pm
Holidays follow Saturday schedule except January 2, January 21 and February 18 which follow Sunday schedule.
Attention parents and guardians: if you are bring or are sending kids under 18 to Shamokin Ice, please download, print and sign the Ice Skate Rental Agreement and Assumption of Risk Form and bring it with you to the Shamokin Ice Ticket Office.
ICE SKATING ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I understand and agree that skating and ice related activities are hazardous activities and have inherent risks no matter how careful I may be and I freely accept and assume all risks of injury or death that may occur while using this equipment and participating. I understand that walking in Ice Skates is different than walking in shoes; I recognize it is common to slip or trip when wearing these skates.
I understand that a helmet is available and that I choose to use one or not. I understand and agree that a helmet cannot guard against all impacts and head injuries. I understand that a helmet does not prevent injuries to the neck, spine or other parts of the body at all.
I understand that Ice Skating may involve strenuous physical activity. Participants must be in good health and not suffer from any physical or mental conditions that may affect their ability to safely participate in Ice Skating. Pregnant women should not participate in Ice Skating.
I accept responsibility for the safety of myself and the person for whom I am signing, and I assume all risks of personal injury, death, and property damage that may occur as a result of my participation and rental of this equipment. I understand that all these conditions, understandings, and agreements are conditions of my rental of this equipment. I agree to indemnify Wintergreen Partners, Inc., their employees and agents against any claims, demands, losses or damages including court costs and attorney's fees incurred which may arise out of any injury or property damage caused by the improper use of this equipment during my rental of the equipment. Additionally, I agree that any dispute arising under this agreement shall be litigated in the Circuit Court of Nelson County, Virginia or the Charlottesville Division of the U.S.District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
I understand and agree that my participation in Ice Skating is purely voluntary and that if I do not agree to accept the risks that I can return my ticket and equipment for a FULL REFUND if I do not accept ALL of these conditions.
