Winter at The Treehouse
December 2009 - March 2010
The Treehouse is headquarters for our nationally acclaimed children's programs for guests ages 2½-12. Our counselors are "fun experts" and know how to keep everyone active and happy - all while learning new skills combining "safety first" supervised activities with on-the-snow skiing adventure.
Treehouse Hours
Full Day: 8:15 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Half Day: 8:15 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1-4:30 p.m.
Snow Play (Age 3)
Children will spend one hour in the morning and a second hour in the afternoon playing boot games in the snow, learning the parts of a ski and getting comfortable on skis. All first time three year olds will begin in the Snow Play program. Children showing proficient ski skills may advance to Ridgely' Rippers
Ridgely's Rippers (Ages 4 - 12)
Ski lessons AND indoor camp activities! A great way to spend the day with new friends who have the same skiing ability. Full day program includes lift access, up to four hours of ski lesson time, ski equipment, lunch, snacks, and hot chocolate.

Mountain Explorers
(Available weekends, and holidays only, with two or more students of similar abilities. Please call to check for availability.)
For advanced beginners ages 7-14. Includes lift access, 2½ hours of lessons and practice time and snacks. Reservations are required. Full Day $115; Half Day (morning session only) $85 (rentals not included) 434-325-8065
Mountain Explorers Pro
(Ages 6 and up)
Mt. Explorers Pro is a multiple day program for skiers and riders of all ages who are looking for a multi- day program with the same level of instruction to help improve their skills as is found in the Mt. Explorers single day program. Mt. Explorers Pro takes the relationship created in the single day product and develops it over five consecutive weeks by maintaining the same instructor. This product replaces the old Blue Ridge Club and adds a much needed next step to the Mt. Explorers program for kids as well as still offering the seasoned skier a fun, supportive, social setting in which to learn and develop. Mom, Dad and Me Ski/Snowboard Lessons
Want to know what your child should be working on next and how to help them ski/ride better? This is a great way to learn some skills and games that will help you teach your child to improve on the slopes. Open to children that can ski/ride Potato Patch. Mom, Dad or both can accompany their child. To arrange, call 434-325-8065.
Offered: on Saturdays/Sundays and Holidays throughout the winter.
Rate: $136 (1.25 hour private lesson with 1 add-on)
Mountain Mornings (Ages 3-6)
Looking for something special to do with your preschooler? This Treehouse program is the perfect way to teach your child to ski. This 5-week program includes up to two hours of on-snow lesson time. Lift ticket and rental equipment, as well as other fun activities. And while your child is in the program, you can ski free… or just relax in The Gristmill with a cup of coffee and a good book.
Rate: $250 per 5 week sessions (includes free lift ticket and rental for one adult)
Dates: Wednesdays: January 6-February 3, 2010 or February 10-March 10, 2010

Make-up lessons are not available if a child misses a scheduled class. If Wintergreen cancels a class, a make-up day will be scheduled.

Save Time - Bring a completed registration form (available by clicking here (pdf)), a copy of your child's birth certificate and immunization record with you to check-in.
Treehouse Registration Information
Important: When calling for reservations, please have the following information for each child: Name, birthdate, ski ability, height, weight and shoe size.
- Treehouse Registration Form
- All Treehouse programs require advance reservations. Please sign up early as programs fill up fast.
- Please call ahead if your child has special needs, in order for us to provide appropriate care.
- A credit card number will be needed to guarantee reservations. 48-hour notice is required for cancellation without a penalty.
- Virginia State Law requires a birth certificate and copy of your child's immunization record at time of registration.
- All children should bring a change of clothes and adequate ski apparel (i.e. waterproof ski bibs, waterproof gloves, a warm coat, a hat that covers the ears, two pairs of socks; neck gator and goggles are optional). Children who do not have adequate gear will not be sent out onto the snow. Please label clothing.
- Children will be grouped according to age and ability in our programs. A healthy staff/child ratio is maintained so that we may effectively provide your child with a quality experience.
- If you have past ski report cards, please bring them along to help us assess your child's ski ability.
- The Treehouse endeavors to be a peanut-free facility. If you pack a lunch for your child, please do not include any food items with peanuts.
Babysitting Service - We can arrange for a babysitter to come to your home. Reserve at least 48 hours in advance.

Check-in time for Ridgely's Rippers, Snow Play and Kids in Action is 8:15 a.m. Full day program offered daily. Half day program offered Monday-Friday and non-holiday Sundays - not available on Saturdays or holidays (December 26-January 1, January 18 or February 15), hours for half-day: 8:15am-noon, and 1-4pm. Lunch is not included in the half day program.
