If you didn't learn to ski as a child, it's not too late. Wintergreen Resort offers programs for all ages and abilities based on the American Teaching System. Whether your aim is to conquer Potato Patch or hit The Highlands in style, our instructors will help you reach your goals.
Sign up at the Snowsports school desk on the middle level of the Skyline Pavilion Ski Center. You will need a pre-purchased lift ticket and equipment for group lessons, private lessons and specialty workshops. Please allow at least one hour to pick up your rentals and get situated before your lesson.

Guaranteed Learn to Ski or Snowboard (GLS)
Would you expect someone to be an expert at playing the piano with only one lesson? Well, the same holds true for learning to ski or snowboard. We're convinced that if you take at least three lessons, you'll stay with the sport for life. And with our GLS package, we guarantee you'll learn to ski or snowboard and SAVE money. Snowsports School Programs for Adults and Children
Group Lessons
Group lessons for ages six and older (skiing) and 8 and older (snowboarding) are offered for beginner skiers or snowboarders, whether you are a first time participant or returning to the sport with only minimal experience. Lessons are grouped by ability and age.
Lesson Times: 9:30am, 11am, 1pm, 2:30pm, 4pm, 5:30pm

Private Lessons
Private lessons are not only a great way to learn to ski or snowboard, but you can hone your skills and become a great skier or snowboarder. Private instruction offers you one-on-one coaching and instruction with your PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) certified instructor. Our instructors have the passion to help you learn to love skiing and snowboarding as much as they do.

Women's Ski Seminar
The Women's Head Ski/Ride Clinic is offered in two formats: Friday day clinics in January and February and a grand finale Weekend Seminar in February (participants can sign up for one or all programs).
The Friday day clinics are featured on the following dates: January 22; January 29; February 5; February 12. These individual clinics offer high level ski and snowboard instruction and are taught by Wintergreen's PSIA certified women instructors. Each Friday program will meet at 9:00 AM. Clinics will take place from 9:30 - 11:30 AM, with a break for lunch (lunch included) and clinic resume again at 1:00 - 2:30 PM.
Friday Women's Clinic Rate:
- 1-Day Friday Clinic: $95 (Equipment rental and lift ticket not included). (lunch and instruction is included).
Grand Finale Weekend Women's Seminar is scheduled for Friday, February 19 through Sunday, February 21. The weekend long workshop offers high quality skiing and riding clinics, workshops, dining and social networking for women of all ages. All clinics and instruction are taught by our PSIA Certified women instructors. Program Includes:
- Meals on Saturday & Sunday (excluding Sunday Dinner).
- Skiing/Riding Coaching Clinics (Morning/Afternoon on Saturday & Sunday).
Program Participants are Eligible For:
- Special Resort-Wide discounts throughout weekend.
- Access to latest Head Ski & Snowboard Demo Equipment for use skiing/riding (participants will need to provide own boots).
- Discount Lodging Reservations (please contact 800-266-2444) for special rates (be sure and reference your participation in the Women's Ski Clinic).
- WPI Members are eligible for 25% program discount with minimum 7-days advance reservation.

Wintergreen Adaptive Sports
Wintergreen Adaptive Sports (WAS) is a nonprofit organization that encourages children and adults with disabilities to discover new abilities through alpine skiing and snowboarding. In its 15th season, over 100 instructors and 15 pieces of sit-down ski equipment will be used to give over 500 lessons. WAS now offers lessons 7 days a week throughout the season except Christmas Day and New Years Day. Both all-day and half-day programs include lesson, lift ticket and rental equipment.
All-day program - includes 5 hour private lesson $100
Half-day program - includes 2½ hour private lesson $60
