Children ages 5-12 are eligible for “Camp Wintergreen”, while children ages 3-4 are eligible for our Little Campers Program! Little Campers will follow a similar schedule to Camp Wintergreen, but with age-appropriate activities and adventures, and a rest time in the afternoon.
“Camp Wintergreen” was designed by our Camp Director, Pierce Byrd. She earned a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from James Madison University, and has been teaching in adventurous capacities ever since! A veteran ski instructor for 17 seasons, and currently our Snow Sports School Director here at Wintergreen Resort, she has all the knowledge, enthusiasm, and skills to deliver a fun, educational Summer Camp.
Camp Wintergreen can be booked on a weekly or daily basis . Each day will focus on different themes from adventure, culinary, arts, and more. Camp Wintergreen is more than just a fun summer camp – it’s a place where children can learn and grow. From outdoor education to sports and recreation, the camp offers a wide range of activities that are both fun and educational while promoting values like teamwork, responsibility, and respect. Camp Wintergreen is a supportive community where children can explore their interests and develop new skills.

you for committing to Wintergreen Resort this winter. While our teams did
everything in their power to prolong winter, there was not enough support from
mother nature to continue. This winter has been unusual and February will go on
record as the second warmest recorded in Virginia. Despite the challenges,
Wintergreen Resort was able to open on December 20, 2022 and remained open for
almost 70 days to February 26, 2023. The terms of sale for Quad Packs states we
cannot guarantee the length of the ski season and they are a non-refundable,
non-carryover promotional product.
With the unusual winter experienced in the southeast, comes unusual
measures. Mission: Four'dable Quad Pack holders are eligible to extend up to
two unredeemed 2022-23 tickets per Quad Pack for the entirety of next winter
season with the purchase of a 2023-24 Mission Affordable Quad Pack this
fall. Should you prefer to use your remaining Wintergreen Quad Pack
tickets this season, they are now valid at several of our Sister Resorts through
the end of their respective ski season. Guests can also take advantage of
30% off lodging at Wisp Resort and Jay Peak Resort.

We’re skiers and riders, we love winter, and we eagerly look forward to turning on the snowmaking system each ski season. We don’t like closing early - we strive to offer skiing and riding as soon as we can and as long as we can each winter.
But, spring is here, the daffodils are blooming and golfers are out in shorts today. Spring now has its turn, albeit too soon for us, so today, Sunday, February 26, 2023 will be the last day of our 2022-23 ski season.
We want to say THANK YOU to all of our skiers and riders for skiing with us at Wintergreen this season. We look forward to welcoming you back on the slopes again next December. In about 292 days, we’ll be skiing and riding again. See you then!
We announced earlier Wintergreen Quad Pack holders can use their remaining lift tickets at Wisp Resort in McHenry, MD beginning Monday, February 27 through Wisp’s closing day. Wisp is offering a 30% lodging discount if you would like to stay a couple days. Take your unused Wintergreen Quad Pack ticket to Wisp’s Guest Services and they’ll give you a Wisp lift ticket.

In spite of a valiant effort to keep the ski season going by making snow at every opportunity, we’ve made the difficult decision to conclude the 2022-23 winter season this Sunday, February 26 at 5:00pm.
We would like to thank our Season Passholders, Members, Homeowners, and all Wintergreen Resort Guests for skiing and riding with us this winter, and we look forward to kicking off another ski season next December.

Due to the unseasonably warm temperatures over the next few days all slopes serviced by Big Acorn lift will be closed Wednesday through Friday. We are not giving up on this season! We just hope Mother Nature will give us a hand. The current plan is to resume snowmaking Friday evening and reopen those slopes for the Weekend. Blue Ridge Express, Highlands Express, and Potato Patch lift will continue to run normal operations through Friday. We apologize for any inconveniences caused. Think cold!

SNOWPOWER kicked some butt last night. The snowmaking team was out all night making as much snow as possible. We woke up this morning to snow covered slopes and ready for a great holiday weekend. Be sure to check our our Ribs and Jibs terrain park event today aswell as stop by the Blue Ridge Terrace to enjoy some tunes from our DJ. We have a lot of fun planned this weekend and it starts now.

What a beautiful morning on the mountain. We are enjoying some natural snow this morning and looking forward to perfect temps and sunshine in the forecast. Snowmaking resumed last night and was extremely productive. We were able to open Highlands for the first time this season this morning. It's finally Friday and it's time to come up the mountain and get some incredible skiing in before the end of the year. Slopes are in great condition and we hope to see you before next year.

We have some fun events happening for New Year's. Friday, Dec. 30th we have fireworks at 10pm. The best place to view the fireworks will be on the Blue Ridge Terrace.

All ages are welcome to ring in 2023 with us inside Upper Crust Pizza! Mad Maxx & The Groove Train Band will be playing from 9pm-12:30am. Food and Drink will be available for purchase. This event

It will be cold on the mountain today, so make sure you wear layers. The snow is in great shape and we were able to open another slope today, Upper Diamond. Wind gusts may affect chairlift operations. We plan to operate skiing and snowboarding December 23 and 24 from 9:00am-4:00pm. Night skiing has been suspended for Friday, December 23. At this time, we plan to offer Snow Tubing as scheduled, but we will assess again on Friday. We did it! A little over an hour ago the rope dropped for the 2022-23 winter season. We are very excited to get this season underway. It's time to dust off those skis and boards and head to the mountains.
We expect to have Big Acorn lift open by 10am tomorrow with the opening of Eagles Swoop.

Lift ticket sales may be limited to ensure a quality mountain experience. Due to anticipated high demand, especially during peak holiday periods, lift tickets and rentals must be purchased online in advance. Wintergreen Resort plans to open for the 2022-23 winter season on Tuesday, December 20 for skiing and snowboarding from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Dobie will be the first trail to open serviced by the Blue Ridge Express, a six-person detachable chairlift. Snow tubing opened for the winter season on Friday, November 25.
Wintergreen Resort’s General Manager, Jay Gamble commented on the start of the season, “We couldn’t be more pleased to open the mountain for skiing and riding on Tuesday, and it is all thanks to our Mountain Operations team who took full advantage of every hour of snowmaking opportunity. Those wet mild November days did not dampen our team’s spirit or efforts as they were at the ready when the cold temps arrived. We look forward to continuing our aggressive snowmaking efforts with more terrain coming soon.”
Mission: Four’dable Quad Packs of unrestricted lift tickets are available online through December 19 for $299. Lift tickets from December 20 through 22 will be $69 for adults and $49 for juniors and seniors. Regular season lift ticket pricing starts Friday, December 23. Additional services and amenities available include dining, shopping, and skier services. The snowmaking team was able to resume snowmaking last night and the slopes are starting to be covered in a blanket of snow. The team will be on standby with promising temperatures in our 10-day forecast. SNOWPOWER, our fully automated snowmaking system, takes advantage of every opportunity when temperatures permit. Over the summer, 16 of the world’s most advanced fan guns were added as well as improvements to the overall system allowing for maximum efficiency and better precision. The mountain will be a winter wonderland before you know it. Keep an eye on our website and social media for updates on opening day as snowmaking progresses over the next 10 days.

The trees have let go of their colorful leaves and the temperature has a familiar chill to it. These are signs that winter is right around the corner. We have been blessed by Mother Nature with some cold weather and we are prepared to take full advantage of it. On 11/16/22 at 10:30pm the Wintergreen snowmaking team turned on the big system. We will be making snow from here on out, every minute that temps are cold enough to allow snowmaking. Our projected opening date has not changed from December 10th at this time, but we will keep an eye on how snowmaking progresses and keep all of you updated as we get closer to the start of the season. View the snowmaking progress yourself by checking out our webcams. There is nothing better than witnessing SNOWPOWER blanket the mountain with that white gold. For over 25 years, Wintergreen Music has brought learning and entertainment to the mountain. The festival artists come from top orchestras, chamber music societies, and faculty rosters around the country.
Tonight's concert is Fresh Perspectives III: Explore the Iberian Peninsula. These pieces are selected to carry you to the Iberian Peninsula, with romance, fire, and just a bit of bombast. From the lyrical Violin Sonatine by 19th century Spanish composer and mezzo-soprano Pauline Viardo Garcia, to the colorful Five Miniatures by Portuguese composer Eurico Carrapatoso, this evening culminates in the rich and dramatic Piano Quintet by Joaquín Turina.
Followed by Festive Fridays IV: The Best of Bluegrass with Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen. In honor of our tradition of presenting the best of Bluegrass, we hold an evening of toe tapping traditional tunes featuring Grammy nominated and two-time IBMA Instrumental Group of the Year, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen. They were a standout from our 2018 Blue Ridge Mountain Music Fest, and we’re pleased to present them on our final Festive Friday of 2022.
To complete this weekend we have two showings, Saturday and Sunday, of Mountain Top Masterworks IV: Season Finale – Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony! The majesty, power, heartbreak, and victory of Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony concludes the 2023 Festival. Under the direction of Carl St. Clair, this incredible finale also includes John Wineglass’s Alone Together, written during the pandemic, and Kenji Bunch’s The Devil’s Box, a classical-meets-pop-meets-fiddling viola concerto featuring Wintergreen Music’s own Steve Larson.
New this year: Enjoy MountainTop Masterworks performances two ways! Come Saturday night for an illuminative digital enhancement exclusive to the Saturday concert experience (and perfect for the evening backdrop!). On Sunday, conductors add color and perspective to your concert experience beginning with a pre-concert talk beginning at 2:00 pm.
