We combine the inspiring Blue Ridge Mountains, our new covered hitting facility and short game campus to provide a true learning environment. Using the latest in video and data gathering technology with our Flightscope launch monitor, let our professionals assess and design a game improvement program specifically for you!

One Day School

Perfect for the beginning golfer and a great refesher for the avid player. Three hours of golf instruction by a Wintergreen Golf Academy PGA Professional and an afternoon open for practice or play.

The Scoring School

Two Day School

Our flagship program that encompasses all phases of golf instruction. Six hours of instruction by a Wintergreen Golf Academy PGA Professional, on-course instruction, and afternoons open for practice or play.

Short-game skills instruction covering putting, chipping, pitching and bunker play
Full swing faults and fixes using V1 Coaching System video analysis with specific corrective drills
Flightscope launch monitor that measures and optimizes swing speed, distance, spin and launch characteristics
Personalized take home improvement drills and personalized bag tag
Golf after each academy day at Stoney Creek Golf Course and discount on golf equipment

Daily "Be a Better Golfer" Clinic

A great way to tune up for the season and even better for beginners! The clinic will cover fundamentals from full swing to short game. Clinics will be 30-60 minutes depending on the number of participants.

Offered daily at 11 am at Stoney Creek
Offered daily at 2 pm at Devils Knob (available to members and resort guests only)

Lesson with PGA Director of Golf or PGA Head Professional: 1/2 hour - $65, 1 hour - $135, 9 Hole Playing Lesson - $225

Private & Nine

Sometimes a private lesson is just what you need to jump start your game. Our Private & Nine combines a 60 minute lesson and a round of golf afterwards. Whether you're a beginner or a low-handicapper, Wintergreen's PGA Professionals will target the area you would like to improve and help you reach your goal.

Junior Golf & Tennis Camp

July is Family Golf Month

During July, the “Try 3” family program will be relabeled “Try 3, kids are FREE” and the Family Fun 9 program will include a FREE golf clinic!

Family Fun 9

Take your family on a nine-hole golf adventure. Wintergreen has everything available from clubs and balls to a quick group lesson – and the fun is all yours.

The Family Fun 9 is a casual way to introduce your family to golf, or to just spend some special time together.

Family Fun 9 tee times are available Monday through Thursday, starting at 3 p.m. at either Devils Knob or Stoney Creek. However, Devils Knob is exclusive to registered Wintergreen Resort guests, Wintergreen Members and their guests.

Try 3, Kids Play FREE!

Have you been fascinated with golf, but have never gone out to play on a course? This new program is an easy way for both adults and children to get a taste of the game and children under the age of 15 play for free.

You’ll start out with 30 minutes of simple, easy-to-understand instruction from one of our teaching professionals, and then move out on the course to play three holes.

The combination makes for a friendly introduction to golf – and doesn’t take much more than an hour. The hardest part is determining who gets to drive the cart - of course, drivers license required!

Available Monday through Thursday after 3 p.m. at either Devils Knob or Stoney Creek. However, Devils Knob is exclusive to registered Wintergreen Resort guests, Wintergreen Members and their guests.
