Summer Midweek Stroke & Strategy Academy

This comprehensive program emphasizes simplicity, strategy, court positioning, footwork, and mental toughness with a low student to teacher ratio. All levels will benefit from this program which includes: video analysis if requested, snacks, academy souvenir, merchandise discount, unlimited outdoor court time, and unlimited use of the ball machine. Bring your own group and customize the academy to your needs!! Great for USTA teams.

• $459 per person (midweek, 12 hours group instruction, 1/2 hour private lesson per person, unlimited use of the ball machine, complimentary use of outdoor courts)

Junior Tennis & Golf Camp (Stoney Creek)

4 days of fun and learning!

• Held weekly during the summer, Monday through Thursday
• Tennis instruction by a USPTA or PTR Professional
• Golf instruction by a PGA Professional
• Small Student to Teacher Ratio
• Learn rules and etiquette
• Develop eye/hand coordination, fitness, and agility
• Improve tennis stroke production and court movement through fun games and drills
• Golf skills instruction covering putting, pitching, and bunker play
• Schedule:
• 9-11 Tennis
• 11-12:30 Pool/Lunch
• 12:30-2:30   Golf
• Lunch included

Wintergreen Junior Tennis Academies (Devils Knob)

The Wintergreen Resort offers two programs Junior Tennis Academies, the All Skills and Ages Program and the Tournament Training Program.  Our goal is to build a strong technical and tactical foundation to grow a player’s game and help provide a pathway for future development, with an emphasis on the proper fundamentals.

Wintergreen Junior Tennis Academy utilizes the proven GreatBase tennis curriculum to help players develop a strong foundation. The GreatBase curriculum was developed by Steve Smith after having studied tennis teaching masters and methodologies for four decades. The Wintergreen staff have a passion for teaching and look forward to assist players taking their game to the next level.

Dates

Junior Tennis Academy #1 - June 5th-8th
Level: All skills and Ages - All Skills program is designed for junior tennis players of any skill level and background, ages 8 - 14. Campers will learn fundamentals, strategy, and drills to improve their game.  

Junior Tennis Academy #2 - June 19th-22nd
Level: High School Team and Tournament Level Only - This academy is geared towards tournament level and ranked players, 14-18 years.  Working on technique, doubles play, match play, winning strategies,
and mental toughness.  

Junior Tennis Academy #3 - July 10th-13th
Level: High School Team and Tournament Level Only - This academy is geared towards tournament level and ranked players, 14-18 years.  Working on technique, doubles play, match play, winning strategies,
and mental toughness.  

Junior Tennis Academy #4 - August 7th-10th
Level: All skills and Ages - All Skills program is designed for junior tennis players of any skill level and background, ages 8 - 188888. Campers will learn fundamentals, strategy, and drills to improve their game.  

• $600 per person (Monday 8:30a-4p, Tues-Thurs 9a-4p, Daily Lunch 12p-1p boxed lunch provided)

Clinics & Lessons

• Private Lessons ($75)
  Private lessons are available at your convenience.
• The Daily Tennis Clinic $32 for Resort Guests; $26 for Members
  Enjoy the best of midweek tennis with fun, fast-paced drills and instruction offered Monday-Thursday from 12-1 pm. The clinic is open to all level of players and guests are welcome to attend. Each clinic will feature a new and changing theme and rotating instructors. Please call 434-325-8345 to save your spot today.
• Advanced Workout (4.0 players and higher - $44)
  This 90 minute class is for adults and tournament level juniors who want to experience a college style workout. Through a combination of pro fed, “live ball”, and competitive drills, your court movement, shot selection, concentration, and fitness will elevate to a higher level.
• Drills for Skills ($32)
  One hour of cutting edge drills designed to improve your stroke production and competitive ability - themed after the Stroke of the Day.
• Cardio Tennis ($32)
  Looking for an opportunity to improve your aerobic fitness? This is it!!! One hour of heart pumping activity designed for beginner and advanced players. Drills are designed to promote improved stroke production, speed, and agility, while constantly keeping your heart rate at an elevated but comfortable level. Personal heart rate monitors are recommended if you have one.
• Matchplay Madness ($44)
  This 90 minute clinic offers 3.0 players and above the opportunity to work on the strategic parts of their game. Wintergreen's tennis staff will coach and/or join you in singles or doubles matchplay. Court positioning, strategy, and the mental side of the game are the focus of this session.
• Junior Clinic ($32)
  Juniors (ages 7-14) will focus on stroke production, court movement, and fun games in this 1 hour session.
