Whether it’s a single treatment or a complete day, we want you to get the most benefit possible from your time spent at The Spa at Wintergreen. To keep your time at The Spa as relaxing and rejuvenating as possible, here are some things you can do to avoid ruining it!
Imagine reclining on a chaise lounge, wrapped in a fluffy robe, sipping tea and reading a magazine or gazing out at the Blue Ridge. Now imagine that serenity interrupted by the ring of a cell phone. Nothing will bring everyday stresses crashing back down on you quite like the nagging sound of an electronic device. Do yourself (and others around you) a favor and turn your cell phone off and leave it in your locker!
If there’s an area that needs a little extra TLC, speak up! And if you ever feel discomfort, don’t be shy about that either. These treatments are all about you!
Believe it or not, if you’re getting more than one treatment, there is a recommended order that will help you avoid smudging your pedicure on the massage table or sweating off moisturizers and serums from your facial in the steam room.
If you’re having an exfoliating treatment, don’t shave! Shaving the same day as a body wrap or pedicure may leave your skin irritated. However, if you’re having a massage or facial, feel free to shave as usual.
One of the great perks of a spa day is taking your time in the lounge and the steam room, reading magazines or a book and not caring what time it is. And don’t schedule yourself for anything that night. You’ll want to take it easy and let that relaxed feeling continue as long as possible.
Treatments can be uncomfortable if your stomach is very full, so stick to lighter foods. But remember to drink plenty of water! Massage and other treatments releases toxins from muscles that need to be flushed out by drinking lots of water.
