Who says winter can’t have a little summer fun? Get ready to swap your ski gear for beachwear and soak up the sun—well, at least the vibe—at Wintergreen Resort’s Slide and Splash Bash Weekend! From beachy tunes to the ultimate test of balance at our pond skim, this event is bringing a splash of warm-weather energy to the snowy slopes.

Friday, March 7: Upper Crust Beach Bash

Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Upper Crust Patio
Kick off the weekend with a beach bash on the mountain! Join us at the Upper Crust Patio for yard games, fresh pizza, and cold beverages. With beachy tunes in the air and good vibes all around, this is the perfect way to get into the Slide and Splash spirit. Open to all!

Saturday, March 8: Spring Ski Celebration

Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Ski Slopes
Time to hit the slopes in style! Dress in your best beachwear or craziest costume and carve up the snow in true spring break fashion. At 12 PM on the Blue Ridge Terrace, we’ll be holding a costume contest, where the best-dressed skier or snowboarder will win a Coca-Cola swag bag! Tropical shirts, sunglasses, visors, and even tasteful bathing suits—get creative and bring the heat to the slopes!

Saturday, March 8: Limbo Contest

Time: 11:00 AM
Location: Blue Ridge Terrace
How low can you go? Join us for a Spring Bash Limbo Contest! We’ll have separate rounds for kids and adults, with prizes and bragging rights up for grabs. If we have enough participants, we’ll even take the contest to the snow for an extra challenge!

Saturday, March 8: DJ on the Blue Ridge Terrace

Time: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Keep the party going with live DJ beats on the Blue Ridge Terrace! With beachy jams setting the scene, grab a drink, dance with friends, and enjoy the ultimate après-ski experience.

Saturday, March 8: Pond Skim

 Location: Teaching area next to Potato Patch lift
 Registration: 9:00–11:30 AM at the top of the learning area ($5 cash only)
 Skimming starts at: 12:00 PM

The main event of the weekend! Think you can skim across an icy pool on skis or a snowboard? Suit up in your best costume (or your most water-resistant gear) and give it a shot! Winners will be declared in three categories:

🏆 Best Crash
🏆 Best Overall Skim

Even if you’re not participating, this event is a must-watch. Cheer on the brave skimmers and enjoy the fun from the sidelines!

Pond Skim Rules:

• Participants must have a valid lift ticket for the day.
• Participants must use their own equipment.
• No double skis, trailing items, or ski poles for safety reasons.
• Participants under 18 must have a parent/guardian present at registration to sign a waiver.
